Mitch Daniels Early Graduation Scholarship

Indiana high schools students who graduate in three years soon may receive a $4,000 scholarship. If signed into law by Governor Mitch Daniels, a high school student who completes graduation requirements in three years instead of four would receive a one-time $4,000 Mitch Daniels Early Graduation Scholarship to be used at any Indiana college, trade school or other post-secondary program. Some think high school students able to graduate early are better off earning nearly free college credit through Advanced Placement and dual-credit courses while still in high school, rather than taking the scholarship money. On the other hand, $4,000 more than covers full-time tuition for a full academic year at Ivy Tech Community College. It would appear a student’s education goals would be a major factor in deciding whether this scholarship is the best way to go when it comes to financing a college education.
